This type of gear is designed and constructed like a trawl net but differs mainly in the medthod of operation but catches are almost identical in termof fish size and species composition. The towrope is hauled into the boat passing trough a 2-ringed tom weight below the boat. This type of gear is currently banned in operate Brunei due to its destructive on juvenile fishes that form by-catches.
